![]() I would also confirm that nothing is blocking the port. Sometimes DNS just needs to be flushed on a client. FWIW, It doesn't sound like it's a DNS issue, but that's one of the first places that I look. Does it connect by IP and not by name? This would indicate some type of DNS issue. Try to connect to the Drobo from Windows by IP address only. While I can't diagnose your issue, a few things that I would do in troubleshooting: As a long time Drobo fan it sucked to tell him that would be a bad idea and to look at Synology instead. I ended up having some friends over and one of them was talking about buying some storage for their home network and mentioned Drobo for a low-cost option. Without a spare, I would have had to purchase a new appliance. So I have moved the SSD Card for Transactioanly tiering over to the now Primary Drobo and still, everything is operating perfectly. It appears there was a problem in the DPack but Drobo has no tools to test or troubleshoot accordingly. It was able to mount to all my computers and I was able to transfer data normally. After running the Drobo Erase process it came back with no data and worked perfectly. I then was free to wipe and reload the Primary Drobo. uughghghghghhgh took forever.Īnyways once it finished I was able to remap all my media and everything was fine. Not sure why as I turned on Jumbo Frames and both ports were running at a full Gigabit but data transfers moved at 10Mbps. It took about a week and a half to sync the nearly 11TB of data across. After the upgrade was complete I used the RSync app from the Drobo Apps to create sync folders. So I picked up some larger drives and started the process of upgrading storage on the underutilized storage. Luckily I had a second Drobo Storage Unit but didn't have enough room on it by itself. Okay so I have resolved my issues but I don't like the solution. I then updated it on the dashboard but nothing. I downloaded an older firmware from the support site and loaded it. "Drobo Dashboard could not mount this share" When I try to mount it via the dashboard I get an error there as well. I have access to them via my MacMini and nothing is wrong there. I have a Nvidia Shield running Kodi that cannot seem to access it either. I cannot explore the share from the larger Drobo on any Windows 10 machine. So why won't my windows machines connect? I have taken one and performed a system restore to a month ago. My MacMini can connect to both Drobo's and access the file shares. I can, however, see both Drobo 5N's in the dashboard. I cannot connect to the 16TB from either machine. All devices have been rebooted several times and I can connect to the 9TB from both windows machines. After some troubleshooting, I rebooted the media server and then it could no longer connect to it either. ![]() When I couldn't connect to the larger one that has all my media on it I looked and my Media Server was able to see the mapped drive and worked fine. I have 2 Drobo 5N's 1 has 16TB and the other has 9TB. I noticed it did not reconnect to one of my Drobo 5N shares. ![]() Saturday evening I needed to reboot my main Windows machine. After updating my Drobo to the latest version I rebooted and everything was fine. I have 2 Windows 10 machines on my network.
